Tile installation in Aurora and the south Denver metro

For homeowners planning new tile in a bathroom or shower, replacing tile during a remodel, or considering large-format porcelain. We review the surface, the tile and the finished details before defining the work.

LV Tile is based in Aurora and works in Parker, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Englewood, Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Fox Hill, Denver, Commerce City, Denver Tech Center and Cherry Creek.

What tile installation can include

The exact work is agreed before installation starts. A bathroom wall and a shower wall can need different preparation, even when the selected tile is the same.

Included in an agreed scope

  • Tile installation for agreed bathroom and shower areas.
  • Porcelain, Ceramic, Mosaic, Natural stone, Marble, Glass tile.
  • Large-format porcelain and herringbone layouts, as shown in the projects below.
  • Preparation suited to the existing surface and selected tile.
  • Tile details around niches, benches, fixtures and transitions when included in the project.

Outside the confirmed scope

  • Plumbing, electrical and design services.
  • Work outside tile installation, bathroom remodeling, shower remodeling and shower pan repair.
  • A fixed price or project timeline before the existing conditions and details are reviewed.

Planning and installing the tile

1. Review the surface and layout

The existing surface, visible damage, tile dimensions and pattern are reviewed before the approach is settled. A large tile and a small mosaic place different demands on handling and layout. Preparation follows the actual conditions, not a photograph.

2. Prepare and waterproof where required

Bathroom and shower surfaces are prepared for the selected installation. Schluter, wedi, LATICRETE, or traditional shower liner systems, selected as appropriate for each project. Flood testing is typically performed when applicable.

3. Set and finish the tile

The layout accounts for corners, niches, fixture openings and transitions. Large-format porcelain requires suitable preparation and attention to mortar coverage, joint alignment and movement accommodation. These details affect the surface and the construction beneath it.

Lippage is the edge you can feel between two adjacent tiles. Tile size, surface flatness and installation conditions all affect it. Movement joints may also be required by the assembly; their placement is specific to the project.

What affects the estimate

A square-foot measurement alone does not describe the work. LV Tile reviews the actual installation conditions and details before preparing a free estimate.

The estimate is tied to that scope, so the work being counted is clear before the project begins.

  • Existing surface condition and damaged sections that need attention.
  • Installation area, tile dimensions, pattern and cuts around openings.
  • Waterproofing selection and shower details such as niches or benches.
  • Material handling, access and transitions to adjacent finishes.

Timing and protection in your home

Tile installation does not have one fixed schedule. Demolition, surface repairs, material availability, setting and drying requirements can change the sequence. The expected schedule is reviewed after the scope is known, not promised before the existing conditions are checked.

The estimate has a separate turnaround. Simple estimates are usually ready the next day; detailed estimates can take up to about three days.

Self-adhesive protective film is used on carpet, protective paper on hardwood or laminate, and floor-to-ceiling plastic sheeting isolates especially dusty work. On larger projects, filtered dust-extraction or air-filtration equipment is used when necessary.
